Meet Tony Gabriele

Tony Gabriele is an Application Engineer in the Yaskawa Building Automation group. He recently shared some insights on his tenure with us.

I started with Yaskawa in the Drives Technical Support group. Having previous experience with VFDs in HVAC and industrial applications helped me to quickly settle into my role as the primary HVAC Technical Support Engineer. After three years in Technical Support, where I learned the drives inside and out, I was asked to join the Building Automation group. Having worked alongside Steve Acheson and Shane King during my time in Technical Support made the transition virtually seamless.

After graduating high school early, I immediately signed up for HVAC classes at the local community college where I earned my Associate degree in HVAC Technology. At present, I am pursuing my BSEE at Southern Illinois University.

While my whole career did not evolve around HVAC, I was able to apply my knowledge in several different positions. I’ve been an HVAC service technician, industrial machinery mechanic, machinist, electrician and panel builder. All of my previous experience has helped me to excel while supporting customers when I was in Technical Support and even now in Building Automation.

I grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago and have lived in both Wisconsin and Illinois. I recently moved from Illinois to Oak Creek, WI, which is very near to the Yaskawa Oak Creek production facility. I hope to stay here in Southern Wisconsin where all four seasons allow me to have fun snowmobiling, jet skiing, cruising in my Mustangs in the summertime and working in the garage.

I have a wonderful family. My son, who is two years old, keeps us extremely busy, and we are expecting another baby boy in January 2020.

Having been with Yaskawa for over six years, I hope to add many more years to that number. I truly appreciate my position in Building Automation after having been a service technician and mechanic.
