On the A1000 series, if a unidirectional 3-wire control is desired, can the directional digital input (H1-0X = 0) be disabled?

Answer:

When in 3-wire control a digital input must be dedicated to (H1-0X = 0), even when not used, otherwise 3 wire control will be disabled.

My drive has a CPF25 fault on it, my V1000 manual has no information on this alarm. What are some troubleshooting techniques to apply?

Answer:

The V1000 has a built-in EEPROM. When the CPU reads from the EEPROM, it looks for a 4 byte "Copy protect" code.

If the terminal board is not connected, the CPU will be unable to read this (see attached) and give a CPF25 alarm.

Additionally, if the memory in the EEPROM on the terminal are not congruent, the CPF25 alarm will show. In this case we will need to initialize the EEPROM by:

1. go into factory level A1-04 = 606
2. change access level to A1-01 = 606
3. EEPROM initialize, A1-03 = 9990

Is the A1000 the same physical size as F7?

On average, A1000 is 30% smaller than F7 with minimal difference on small ratings and significant differences on larger ratings. Your specific ratings of interest must be compared. A1000 can also be mounted side-by-side, further reducing panel space.

Yes, it has both a Normal Duty rating with an overload capacity of 120% for 60 seconds for fans and pumps, and a Heavy Duty rating for 150% for 60 seconds.

In Normal Duty mode, is the default carrier frequency higher than 2kHz?

If the drives carrier frequency is changed , is it necessary to re-autotune the drive?

Answer:

No, it is not necessary to re-run auto-tune if the carrier frequency is changed . The auto-tune calculates motor constants so is not dependent on carrier frequency .

Drives with vector control modes, open-loop vector and closed-loop vector, have a built-in auto-tuning function, which optimizes the inverter for any standard induction motor.

I am writing to the speed reference register using MODBUS TCP/IP for my 1000 series drive, yet U1-01 does not read properly. I can write to other registers with no problem. What are my possible issues?

Please try to use the software ComTest Pro Communication Test Software found at: http://www.baseblock.com/PRODUCTS/demosoftware.htm. This is a barebones software which will allow you to find the root register you may be dealing with.

If you determine the register (register 1) is not writing to your device, please disconnect your control terminals and reinitialize. If a frequency reference is being given through the terminal strip, it will override your MODBUS TCP/IP frequency reference.

I am using the MOP function on the 7 series drives and on my deceleration; the drive is following the speed pot instead of the deceleration time. Why is that?

Answer:

This Problem does not present itself very often. In nearly all MOP operation, connection is usually not used on terminals A1 and A2. The analog inputs can be used and, by default are used for speed limiting. When deceleration is done to the drive, the drive will follow the speed limit.

How to change motor direction when rotating backwards?

1 - Swap any 2 motor leads.

2 - Use parameter parameter b1-14. Toggle between 0-standard or 1-switch phase order

***Note - Initializing drive will set b1-14 back to default of 0. b1-14 is only recommended as a test only. motor phasing should be changed physically with motor leads.
